Over the last few weeks I've been learning how to weld with my cheap HF flux wire to make Chassis Braces for my Maxima. It's been a blast and i can say that is hobby will continue on. Already looking for Hobart 210 MVP and Everlast Tig/Stick machines for my next upgrade. Anyway, I'd welcome any inputs, critique, or whatever. I'm new and excited to learn.1. Front Lower Tie Brace. 1" tube x .095" wall. Bent it using modified HF tube bender. This thing made a huge improvement in the handling and steering respond. Car is now tracking straight with no torque steer when you accelerate hard. It also somehow dampen the NVH. Last edited by Genes1s; 10-18-2013 at 05:35 PM.
Reply:It would probably be easier to get some feedback if you provide close up pictures of the welds and some particulars about the metal used and welder settings.*************************************Mike AccardiHenderson, [email protected] 250XLincoln Weldpack HDMiller Syncrowave 180 SD*************************************

Reply:I thought you were welding on Mars, the red planet. It took me a minute to see it was a red screen which is a great idea if your welding in the driveway. Post some photos of the welds prior to smoothing them out. |
