Saw this on extreme 4x4 this weekend and decided I needed one of these.http://www.stouttool.com/default.aspI love the cutting station. Has anyone used one of these? Are there other companies that make something like this but in a corded version, I'm really not sold on cordless tools.(they seem to always die when I need them the most. lol)Lincoln Promig 180
Reply:Same here. I would love to have that in a corded version.
Reply:I have the Milwaukee version. Works as well as the corded, eats batteries fast.

Reply:Does the Milwaukee double as a vertical band saw like the x-band?Lincoln Promig 180
Reply:No it does not. At least mine doesn't
Reply:I have only seen 2 cordless types.  The X-Band is cool, but pricey.
Reply:Hmmm, well is there a vertical metal cutting band saw that doesn't cost like $500+.Lincoln Promig 180

Reply:Or you could built that $40 bracket for about $10 and 15 mins of your time.Lincoln 300 Vantage 2008300 Commander 1999SA250 1999SA200 1968Miller Syncrowave 200XMT350MPA/S-52E/xr-15Xtreme 12vs Millermatic 251 w/30A  Millermatic 251 Dialarc 250 Hypertherm 1250 GEKA & Bantom Ironwokers
Reply:Ok, cool. So I can just make a stand, awesome! A project. Oh, and would I be able to do any curvy cuts or is the blade too wide to cut intricately? I'd be making things like axle brackets and other little brackets and such.Lincoln Promig 180

Reply:I have a v28 Milwaukee cordless band saw, too. Half the weight of the Milwaukee it says. I'd rather a well built heavy tool than a light one.  Unless you're a girl, maybe. like the other guy says, eats batteries quick.
Reply:willinthe985, the little 4x6 horizontal saws from HF, Grizzly, and Jet all have table attachments, and therefore work in vertical mode for much less than $500 (including a decent blade or two).  They are not extremely high quality tools, but they are hard to beat if you are on a budget and understand the cutting speed limitations.
Reply:I'm going to hit up some pawn shops and see if i can find either a Milwaukee or Dewault for a decent price.Lincoln Promig 180
Reply:I have a milwaukee corded for 13 years or so and love it use it just about everyday.   I made a alum. plate that can be bolted on , just take out the 2 guide screws in stall plate with the same screws and,  put the handle in the vise . a zip tie on the trigger and your s#^tin in tall cornDaye
Reply:Northern has quite a selection including the Stout and they have a pretty good sale going on now. http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/w...6970_98+767241Lincoln SA200, HH135, Lencospot, HF80 Inverter, Rockwell 11x35 lathe, HF drill mill, Kama 554 tractor w/ FEL & BH, Belarus 250AS, lot's of Chinese tools
Reply:The guys at work love the Stout bandsaws.  Personally I bought a Makita corded portable bandsaw and made a table.I bought what I did because:1) Batteries die every N years, so you pay a premium for cordless tools.  If the batteries match your drill batteries, you're all set.  Otherwise, you be spending half the price of the tool next time you need a new set of batteries.2) The Makita has an all-gear drive, while the Milwaukee and Dewalt both have a chain in the drivetrain.------------------------------Lincoln 175HDLincoln AC/DC225Smith O/A
