Reply:Did you get that from the guy off Atlantic in Baldwin? I've got a friend who got a SouthBend 9 from him. Looks like you got a good start on tooling. I love my Aloris toolpost!

Reply:Yeah, he was very nice. I don't know where he finds the stuff, but he seems to move a lot, and does a nice cleanup job on everything. I like the black paint details where they belong.Do I see a collet nose? I don't see the closer. I do see a whole lot of fluorescent bulbs though. Its funny, I almost never use my steady rest, and use my follow rest even less, even though I took the time to made ball bearing guides for each.I think I've got the same emco toolpost. Its the same size as the AXA. Very good choice. I just added a boring bar and some carbide holders to get me more options. The Logan can be VERY difficult to tell from a SB.The belt guard casting on the logans is always flat, and it tapers on the SB. The SB also has a clutch on the carriage for a power-feed (instead of just being fixed into a threading feed), but the compound, tailstock and bed are quite similar.
