I have a HF251-D high freq box and a DIALARC 250,I bought the remote option for the dialarc and did not know it was a three prong and not a 14 prong plug .I don't want to spend another $300.00 on a foot control part # RFC23A .does anyone have one for sale or know where I can find a used one? I am not sure how this setup is going to work with the HF251-D it should plug into the welder not the foot control. I also need a secondary contactor part # 041 969 another $300.00 for the HF251-D. Could an amptrol L3966-10 be modified to work with this setup i have one ?

Reply:You know that old story, you can't get there from here, you have to go somewhere else and start. The remote current control goes right thru the HF box and the 15 ohm resistor is required, so you could make it work with the RFC23A. What you will end up with, under the best of circumstances, is a project with wires here and there, a lot of work, and a package that cannot be sold reasonably. Steve has a good suggestion and there is enough worth in what you have now to trade it for what you really want which is a Dialarc HF or the big brother, the 330ABP. Both are readily available on the used market, solve all your problems, and the HF you have is in demand for field use as well as the Dialarc 250, assuming it is the AC/DC version. Should you desire to go with the RFC23A, we have everything here. weldersales
Reply:I could not find a miller ac/dc tig machine in my price range that was not 1500 miles away.I already had the hf box and found a new dialarc ac/dc with a little damage to one leg for $900.00. I should have checked into it a bit more but I would like to make this work until I can find another tig welder. thanks |
