My girlfriend "challenged" me the other day to come up with an industrial style dog bowl for our three dogs. She wanted something that had three separate feed bowls (one for each pooch) and a central "community" water bowl. I thought it would be neat to add in a float mechanism and a filter and make the water bowl auto-replenishing as well. I started drawing up designs last night but I've hit a wall in terms of how best to build this and not make it too large while at the same time giving the three dogs some space between one another at feeding time (minimize fighting).Anyone have any thoughts?
Reply:I imagine the bowls should be stainless and removable for cleaning.perhaps an Industrial box to hold the bowls made from wood with Steel accents- mix of wood and "Blacksmith" iron accents.http://media.restorationhardware.com/is/image/rhis/prod1558003_S13?$l-pd1$&illum=0Ed Conleyhttp://www.screamingbroccoli.com/MM252MM211 (Sold)Passport Plus & Spool gunLincoln SP135 Plus- (Gone to a good home)Klutch 120v Plasma cutterSO 2020 benderBeer in the fridge
Reply:I saw a dog bowl the other day that had a 2L pop bottle attached to it. I did not pay much attention to the mechanism but I could see a floating ball that would float up into the neck of the bottle when the bowl was full and stem the flow.brad

Reply:About a year ago someone here posted pics of some killer "heavy duty" and over-the-top doggy food bowls. I can't remember if they used aluminum diamond plate or stainless steel, or both. I recall seeing three bowls in some type of heavy duty stand etc.... I just remember thinking how bad @zz they looked. I tried searching for that old thread here on WW and google for you but, no luck.Lincoln Power Mig 216Lincoln AC/DC-225/125Miller 625 X-Treme PlasmaMiller 211 Forney 95FI-A 301HF 91110Victor Journeyman O/PMilwaukee DaytonMakita Baileigh NRA Life Member

Reply:Excellent. I think this combined with some standard float style valve will accomplish the mechanical elements. Now just have to find a design I (she) likes.
