Howdy everyone, been reading these boards for a few months and finally got off my duff to post.I started a new job last week (after a 10 month welding hiatus, God slap me upside the skull if I ever decide to work in retail again), got my 1G plate code and was placed in the skid bay of the pressure vessel shop I work at. I have one year's previous experience in pressure vessels (small stuff like glycol heaters, reboilers, fire-tubes, etc.) and 98% of that was .045" dual-shield (more popularly known as fluxcore) but, this new shop is all about the .035" hard-wire spray transfer. In the last week I've gotten comfortable with the new process (trial and error... LOTS of error), but I've found limited resources online. I know the basics like gas and heat settings, but I was wondering if there was anything else/more to know. I'm dedicated to improving at my craft so all the information I can get is paramount. |
