Sorry no welding involved. Just some coal, heat hammers and punches. This is from the last 2 classes. Next up personal projects. 1 hammer, 1 axe, one fancy pickle fork, 1 really cool stand for a granite sink. I might try some repousse.Last edited by app-ironworksllc; 10-19-2013 at 12:48 AM.Brian LeonardAppalachian Ironworks L.L.C.434 Long Branch Rd, Marshall, NC 28753828 649 9966828 702 [email protected]

Reply:Not bad Brian. How did you do them? Did you do an offset forging or use the twist method?I am still working on getting my offsets for the boss right doing offset forged tongs. My twist ones where I fuller flat stock are coming out pretty decent though. Down side is that they usually are easiest to do with a striker vs on my own. I may make a custom guillotine tool to do the one sided fullering this winter when I have some spare time.A small axe is on the to do list, along with a nice draw knife at some point..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:Nice. I was working a smithy at a scout camp a few years ago. On the last day of camp and old timer came by and dropped off some much needed supplies. He eyed the tongs in my hand, of which I especially liked, I handed them over and he flipped the over a time or two and then showed me his touch mark. He'd made the tongs 30 or 40 years prior. I love homemade tools.

Reply:Love the sequence photo, as an extremely novice BS (Novice blacksmith, master BS artist) seeing the sequence is far more helpful than finished products or written/verbal descriptions. There are no problems.
