I am looking for an air compressor 60-80 gallon for the house and I was wondering if there are any that are expceptionally quiet than the others? I have a shed and was thinking about insulating it and putting the compressor inside there but I still want it to be quiet.. Any suggestions?HTP Invertig 201Lincoln Idealarc SP250Miller 180 AC StickBy farmall:They should have held the seagull closer to the work, squeezing evenly for best deposition.
Reply:Well, forget oilless. Those are the loudest.Look for something 1800 rpm. The 3600 rpm compressors are about twice as loud.
Reply:Hello, Do you have Hydrovane compressors in the U.S. Very quiet in operation, They are a rotary machine that work on the principal of an air tool but in reverse, Really excellent compressor, but pricey. you maybe have the same sort of thing going by another name. Google Hydrovane and see what you get, Cheers Gordon.Lincoln SP-170 MigHypertherm powermax 45Lorch T220 AC/DC TigButters FM 215 synergic MigKemppi 180 adaptive mig RULES ARE FOR THE OBEDIENCE OF FOOLS AND THE GUIDANCE OF WISE MEN.
Reply:The hydrovane is quiter than most compressors, but this type of compressor allows oil to pass into the air stream. If it is a oil-less type then it passes fiber into the air stream. In both cases it is not ideal. I would buy a standatd compressor and if it is to noisie put some sound deading material around it. Reply:if quiet is that much of a priority...I'd probably be looking at a smaller rotary screw compressor in an insulated box...something along the lines of a quincy, joy, twistair or gardner denver. Be prepared to spend almost 2 grand for a used one.
Reply:Start saving up for a Quincy compressor, they make some of the best in the world but it will cost you.I.B.E.W Electrician and Damn Proud of It !!!! .Virtus Junxit Mors Non Separabit http://www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org/
Reply:These are pretty quiethttp://www.eatoncompressor.com/page/page/504413.htmthey are about identical in contruction to these which is what I own and for an air compressor of 80 gallons and true 5 hp is pretty quiet, I also have the optional muffler that cast air sells. www.castair.net.-DanOwnerDW Metalworks LLCMiller Trailblazer 302Miller 8RC FeederMiller Passport PlusMiller Dynasty 200 DX W/Coolmate 1Hobart Handler 135Hypertherm PowerMAX 30Smith O/A Torch SetPlus much much more
Reply:I got a 5HP two stage quincy a couple of years ago. Its a piston type, but isn't as noisy as most.I never even put insulation around it yet.@ $1800 delivered www.aircompressorsdirect or something like that.their inventory goes up and down a bit so call them.G
Reply:Quincy is your best bet if you can afford it. If not Eaton isn't a bad choice, IR is still making some good stuff. If you're loaded get a rotary screw.
Reply:It would probably hurt the cfm a little but you could try fabricating an air silencer for the intake to quiet it down a little.MikeConstans Fides et IntegritasLincoln Weldanpower 150 ACAirco Aircomatic MIGet CAV II w/ spoolgunMillermatic 30a wirefeeder |
