Reply:http://www.countryoutfitter.com/prod...O0oaAptE8P8HAQthese are the ones I wear on a daily basis, great boots, my only complaint is that when I was cutting something with the torch it managed to sever one of the stitchings on the inside of my right boot, I took them back and got a replacement same dayif you buy them at Bobs, at the right time of year, with the right coupons, with the stars aligned and a rabbits foot in your pocket you can nab these for $140because thats what I did x)Miller Spoolmate 200 w/t S-52 WirefeederMM 211'09 Miller Trailblazer 302

Reply:I have used red Wing, and liked them, but have used cheaper boots as well.No real brand preference, as long as they don't have exposed stitching or laces. As a welder, I have found boots with laces or stitching, and shirts with buttons (I prefer snaps) don't last long.It may just be me. Reply:I've worn Redwings for 25+ years; this particular style for at least 15 years every day. I can get 1 1/2 years before a resole usually, then another year and the toe box is usually rotten where it flexes. My brandy new shiny still sitting in the box pair have some stupid stitched design on top of the toe now. Not sure who thought that was a good idea......http://www.redwingshoes.com/red-wing...nch-boot-brown

Reply:Can't even find shoes that fit right in the stores most of the time, what do I do, open a UPS hub in the garage to handle all the returns needed to buy boots online? To top it off, there's only one boot store with steel toe around and their boots are slabs of concrete with vinyl uppers. Been in this boot dilemma a couple years while fighting Planters Faciitis,  arch pain.Last edited by Bosco99; 02-07-2015 at 09:54 AM.

Reply:I wear the redwing pecos non insulated. I have for about 14 years and I love them. I also spend 12-16 hour days in them on concrete and steel decks. If its to cold for them I wear several other options. They are appropriate for me because oilfield work or offshore you have to take you boots off many times a day. So laces are possible and many have them, its just easier to slip on. And they are the most comfortable boot I have ever had. They are not terribly expensive, around 180$, and they are American made! Mine are also not water proof, you can get that version. I prefer to oil mine. forgot to add, the local redwing store here keeps your info and remembers you, so its not a guessing game when getting new boots. And for welding/burning nothing beats a slip on with no laces or anywhere for dingle berries to catch!Last edited by shaynoak; 02-07-2015 at 02:26 PM.

Reply:I was at the store and saw what I thought were my old discontinued boots in a catalog and when the told me the price $150 I had to pause and listen to what I was going to say next a few times in my head first. "I don't want a pair that cost $150." They felt too light to me vs the more expensive boot...and well cheaper if you will. I was too well served by the higher price tag.

Reply:I never had to get my Filsons or Redwings resoled. There simply was never a need. I was rather socked at how long they lasted.
Reply:I bought some redwings 3 years ago, & they have been great,They have an anti-slip sole which has saved my *** a few times!I had used Chippewas for 20 years but I must say that the redwings wear much better. Those White's look great too.Buy American, or don't whine when you end up on the bread line.

Reply:@ AustinBennet - scale of 1 to 10, how are the Wolverines?  In the past, used RedWings, Danners, etc for offshore work.  Find the slip ons are the best.  Easy access in and out.  Had a sweet pair of slip on cowboy boots a decade ago, but don't recall the name.   In the market for a new set of non-laced, full-length boots.  May have to try out the Wolverines."Discovery is to see what everybody else has seen, and to think what nobody else has thought" - Albert Szent-Gyorgyi
Reply:For slip ons, I suggest CAT Revolvers.  I get about a year and half out of them. For 90$. Not bad. Be prepared to get some insoles if you live in a wet area and don't grease boots often.Powcon 300st (my favorite)Miller Goldstar 600ssLincoln Idealarc 400/400Miller 12vs2 LN25'sMiller Deltaweld 302Miller Bobcat 250 G EFIMiller Bobcat 225d Plus (Dropped a valve, up soon)Everlast 255ext (ordering soon!)
Reply:@ stevenopolis - LOL at your convinced the soupnazi lady the crocs were steel-toed.  Done the same with a busted 'ole pair of Keens for offshore work.  Some time steel toed boots are not the way to roll.  Back to your CAT Revolvers.  Comfort?  Durability?  Longevity?  Will research 'em bro.  Mahalo!Last edited by ManoKai; 02-08-2015 at 12:03 PM.Reason: shoe correction"Discovery is to see what everybody else has seen, and to think what nobody else has thought" - Albert Szent-Gyorgyi
Reply:For comfort on the cat boots, typical work day I walk a couple miles at least.  I've had this current pair for about 14 months with 6 day a week 10 - 12 hr use. Climb around rock quarries, rain, snow, shop, equipment.  They're maybe half through the sole tread. I work around oil mud diesel, pretty dang good anti slip.Powcon 300st (my favorite)Miller Goldstar 600ssLincoln Idealarc 400/400Miller 12vs2 LN25'sMiller Deltaweld 302Miller Bobcat 250 G EFIMiller Bobcat 225d Plus (Dropped a valve, up soon)Everlast 255ext (ordering soon!)

Reply:What you can get are Vibergs, highly rated by foresters and loggers, many different styles as well for construction, bikers, etc, and they are a British Columbia company.  Warning though these are more pricey than Whites.http://workboot.com/ Originally Posted by abecno i bought terras but im in canada so after taxes it adds up fast.  they did good can really complain except that they are just plain worn out  i will look into some red wings dont think i can get whites around here
