hey guys, i have a Thermal Arc - ArcMaster 160S (160A, 115/230V ) its running on 110v now, but i wanna know how to hook it up to 220. the power cables need to be changed out i would think, if so will any 220 cable do, or is there a certain cable you would recommend for this? is it easily switched between the 2 or a big process? any help would be goodthanks, CraigLast edited by KYZAAC; 10-03-2009 at 01:23 PM.
Reply:You need to consult the owner's manual that came with your machine. I don't know that particular machine or if it is internally auto-voltage-switching or if you have to open it up and change the jumper positions. If you don't have an owner's manual, you can get one online in .pdf file format on the Thermal Arc website, www.thermadyne.com.To run 220v single phase, you need a 3-wire cord. Two of them are hot and one is ground. There is no nuetral in 220v single phase. To run 220v 3-phase, you need a 4-wire cord, 3 hots and a ground, no nuetral.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op |
