Pulse MIG: 3G DOWNHILL-3/8"plate

You read it right, downhill.  I'm gonna qualify in this at a job I'm starting.  I've had a chance to practice a bit, but does anyone have advise for technique?  I've been able to do bend tests on some coupons and most have broken at the weld interface due to poor fusion.Help!John

Reply:Downhill MIG is not commonly done on 3/8" plate, but if that's what the WPS says then oh, well...What bevel,land, gap? Backing strip or no? More info will get you better answers.JohnA few weldersA lot of hammersA whole lot of C-clamps
