I have the machine listed above it has the voltage and amperage controls on it.. It does not run real good and it needs a battery and starter but it will weld just need to tune it up a bit for higher amps.I am looking to certify this spring and put everything on my flatbed truck for mobile welding/fab.My question is, is it worth fixing and putting about $200 into it or will I be better off buying a new/used machine?I have a line on a Miller trailblazer 250G for $1400.I have been using a Lincoln 350 set up for dual shield and I really like it but obviously would need to purchase a self powered welder to the tune of $4K or more. Thanks for the input
Reply:7,You failed to specify which Weldanpower you have but many would and have made a very good welder/generator for a rig. For only $200 +/- depending on which specific model you have it could make a good unit for yours as well - especially if just starting out.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!

Reply:Thank you for the help. It looks to be a 225 I believe. It has settings up to 190 amps and then the last one says "max", I could not locate a model number. I currently start it with a rope. It has a 16hp Briggs on it right now.It is easy to get caught up in the new stuff but they all do a very similar job. That 350MP is really nice though...
Reply:Can you read the code# on the faceplate? With a 16hp I'd agree that it's likely a 225.One of the nice things about the Weldanpower line (except the 130) is you don't have to go back to the welder everytime you want to change from welding to using the auxiliary power and back again. One of the bad things is it has to run at 3600rpm (much noisier) when used as a stand-by generator.Good machines all around.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base! |
