Whats the best electrode holder for my Bobcat 225, I will be using 3/32, 1/8, and 5/32 electrodes and it needs to be a 300 or higher amp rated.Miller Dialarc 250Miller Bobcat 225Hobart Oxy/FuelCouple of Dewalt and Milwaukee GrindersJET Bandsaw and Drill Press
Reply:Why do you need 300 amps or higher for 5/32" electrodes?I like Tweco brand.Airco Ac/Dc 300 HeliwelderMillerMatic 200 (stolen)Miller Maxstar 150STLMiller AEAD200LE (welding and generating power) Hobart MIG

Reply:You don't want to use the same whip (cable or electrode holder) for 3/32" and 5/16". Make a lightweight whip for 200amps or less and have a heavy whip for 200amp and more. Your arms will thank you when you are welding vertical/overhead. I'm not even sure where you would get 5/16" 7018...Airco Ac/Dc 300 HeliwelderMillerMatic 200 (stolen)Miller Maxstar 150STLMiller AEAD200LE (welding and generating power) Hobart MIG

Reply:5/16" 7018??? Hate to get arc blow at 400+ amps. I like the twist type Bernard 40B style. I have a copy but only weld occasionally now. if I had a rig or a shop, I'd get a genuine Bernard.

Reply:You will not light a 5/16 with 300 amps need a 500 amp AC .
Reply:i've had this stinger for many years. it's probably not the original because the components have been changed over and over. this goes with me whenever i have to test. if i'm not using this i use a shortstub. Attached Imagesi.u.o.e. # 15queens, ny and sunny fla
