For those of you that have a Thermal Arc 186............I believe these come with 3 different switches for the torch. Could someone please post a pic of the 3 switches???
Reply:It should be in the owners manual. I have 2 of them left, sold the other with the torch. Let me see if I can find them.Edit: just took a pic of the 2 I have sitting here Attached ImagesLast edited by Gamble; 08-11-2013 at 02:19 PM.Torchmate 2x2 CNC with Flashcut CNC controlsHypertherm Powermax45 Esab ET220i Razorweld 195 MigRazorweld 200ac/dc TigTormach 770, Tormach xstechRazorweld, Vipercut/Vipermig, SSC Foot Pedal Dealer
Reply:Last I looked, T/A had the owner's manual or a brochure showing all three.
Reply:The only good one is the plain on/off (in plastic above), the rotary one above and the other one with separate on/off and wheel are just about impossible to use while getting a nice weld. I just use 4T mode, press to pre-heat, release to weld, press to fill the crater and release to downslope. Reply:Mine came with a foot pedal in addition to the finger switches. Disregard the Xpin connector attached to the torch, hook up the pedal, and 2T joy begins.Saw some guys are up in cold country, maybe there's different packages for different countries in N.A.Or if you're married to the 4T operation, which I am not familiar enough with to discuss at any length. If you fight long enough, you will win. The problem is it costs too damned much.- Lee Cheng

Reply:I'm not exactly a fan of 4t, but it is a bit of a help tacking up Alu in awkward spots. Beats the heck out of ON/OFF. The factory torch is super bulky, and gets hot enough for the cup to start glowing when using the machine to it's fullest. Oxford: What cooler/torch are you using? I have a 1/2 gal tank I want to use to make a cooler, but I can't find the 5/8" NPT bungs for it.Last edited by Brazin; 08-31-2013 at 12:06 PM.SqWave 200Millermatic 190Airco 200 ACHypertherm PM45Boice-Crane Band SawVictor O/A |
