Hey guys, first post, I'm hoping someone here can help! I have had a nice Accutig machine in my garage for many years but have never been able to use it. I bought just the machine with none of the accessories. I need the torch and remote/pedal, water lines, gas line, etc etc. Problem is this machine is an older unit, 1988, and has connections different from the norm these days. I'll put up some pics and maybe someone can help! The beast! This is the torch connector and the remote/pedal connectorLast edited by B18B1LS1; 02-17-2015 at 06:35 PM.
Reply:Sorry the pics are so big, I'm trying to resize them
Reply:You might be able to monkey rig an old Linde FC-4 foot pedal. There should be hundreds out there and if you have the OTC owners manual, you might be able to find the potentiometer ratings. Have you tried contacting OTC for old parts?Weld like a "WELDOR", not a wel-"DERR" MillerDynasty700DX,Dynasty350DX4ea,Dynasty200DX,Li ncolnSW200-2ea.,MillerMatic350P,MillerMatic200w/spoolgun,MKCobraMig260,Lincoln SP-170T,PlasmaCam/Hypertherm1250,HFProTig2ea,MigMax1ea.
Reply:I have an email into OTC, hopefully someone there may have some advice also. I'm just afraid I'm a little fish with an old machine to a company like OTC!

Reply:I would second what shovelon has said regarding SSC controls. I have had dealings with them before on a number of different applications and they have been really helpful and service oriented, also a considerable amount less expensive than most other options. They will generally also know the required pot values and connector requirements. Best regards, Allanaevald
Reply:Thanks for all the advice guys. Well, a nice lady from OTC responded to my email. After a few back and forths she was able to get me a price on the torch switch and the pedal. Only a cool $1700 bucks! Haha, umm no! After looking over some wiring diagrams it seems the torch switch is just a simple grounding switch to start the arc. And the remote that should have been with the machine is just a control box with 2 dials and a 4-prong connector. One dial for amperage control and one for pulse control. It seems a simple potentiometer might have me in business? I think I will give SSC some details about what I need and see what they say.
Reply:Well now I feel silly. I guess I should have searched around this site some more. It seems lots of people make their own foot controls. Surely I can pull the covers off this thing and get out the multi-meter and wiring diagrams and do the same! |
