Hey, new guy here, found the site while browsing for a place to move some equipment.Kind of odd for a first post, but I have a really nice Miller Trailblazer 55G engine drive for sale. I bought it for a job, put three or four tanks of gas through it and the job went away. I am still running my big lincoln, and this Miller has become an extra. Figure somebody can use a good welder, ready to go. Here is a craigslist link for it. http://montana.craigslist.org/tls/1019751888.html I can ship, or whatever, we just need to figure out what your needs are. Call or hit me up here, looks like a pretty good place for welders and blue collar folks like me.laine
Reply:Is this your unit or not? the craigslist ad states "not sure of total hours but believe to be pretty low as welder doesnt show much sign of use.".Sorry for the frankness cablecat but there has been alot of scams on craigslist lately and some of us are just a little more cautious as a result.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:cablecat has been awfully quiet. HHHMMMM??????Charlie
Reply:yup, its mine. I dont know the total hours. It never had a meter. I ran the gas through it, and finally got around to putting a meter on it a few months back. As far as millers go up here, I havent seen one that has been used outside that you can still read the face plate. the sun and the snow eat them, or something. Faceplate is great, wiring and under the hood is super clean. I would say low hours, and I have had a few engine drives over the years that were not. Anyway, not a spammer, although craigslist has opened up a nice can of them for me. And I realize its rather presumptious to drop in somewhere with no intros, and first post out of the gate have a for sale item. Welder, and myself, are in montana. Thanks,CC
Reply:Hey cc i am intrested in your welder. Does this welder have a 14 pin connector. Aaron
Reply:I dont think it has a 14 pin, at least that I can recall. It has a male flanged receptacle, two post twist, and a couple of others, I will get over to it this afternoon and double check. My feeders all run across the arc, never had anything that had the deutch connectors.
Reply:If he's a skammer he sure seems to know the talk.A butterfly without wings, is just an ugly bug
Reply:No 14 pin duetch pin. has a pair of hubble 120/240 three prong female twist lock receptacles, and the one male two blade twist lock receptacle.. one or two of these is for a remote contactor, and there is a switch to go remote or standard. Looks all very factory. Like I said, my stuff is across the arc. As far as the spamming-scamming goes, I run a LN22 for hard surface and a LN25 for everything else. .068 flux core is all I have ever put through either of them. I run them with a SAM400. I bought the SAM because I needed a bigger rig for air arc, and I wanted CC/CV which the standard SA200s I had before did not have, and the lincoln tech line told me that putting the constant voltage on them would be 1, a pain in the backside, and 2, it wouldnt work as well as I thought it should. Had a couple of red faces, one that was hammered, leaked oil, windings banged and sparked, and it still did a days job. The black face I had was a bitchin' good welder, never drank more than half a gallon an hour in her life, just did everything a welder should do. I miss that one. First engine drive I had was a hobart with a wisconsin. Had nothing but problems with it, first chance I had it left town. Just wasnt what I would consider a jobsite welder. Here is a pic of my current service wagon..By cablecat, shot with KODAK EASYSHARE C813 ZOOM DIGITAL CAMERA at 2009-02-12thanks for your interest,cc
Reply:WOW what a rig!!American by birth Southern by the Grace of God
Reply:Thats the rig I want to build, an F-350 is wayyyyyy to small.Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."
Reply:Oh, tidbit for the old Alaska guys, the sam has a detroit, set up for the alaska pipeline job. I bought it from a fellow in Anchorage, low hours. Shipping from up there to down here was half of what it was going to cost to get one off the east coast. Oil pan heater, battery heater, huge block heater. If you can get the detroit to spin, it will start and then you can get everything else warmed up, jumped and running. Burns about .5-.75 gallons per hour on average, if I am running at max with an air torch, she drinks a bit heavier, still just under a gallon. One good rig, it will last me a long, long time. When diesel was so expensive, a gas burner that drinks the same amount is a no-brainer, but for most of what I do, the diesel will handle the load better.cc

Reply:Its cool, I figured I would get beat on with the craigslist link. Craigslist is bad about spam/scams. In fact, the only hits I have had from anyone on craigs have been a bunch of jerkies thinking I am willing to just let them come get the welder and eventually pay me with a check written on a napkin. Duh. The KW T600 turns pretty decent, unless its soft. Soft ground, you end up pushing the front end wherever. Pretty heavy up there. Next truck will be a short nose KW W900, and I will shorten the cab to axle about two and a half feet, stretch the tail about another foot. You start with one chassis, everything is finally perfect, you move to another one, and you have to move everything around all over again. Never a final answer. I figured when I punched the holes in the frame for this one, it was going to be THE ANSWER to all my issues with my old chassis. Didnt happen. This truck has a baby cat, makes 12-13 on the interstate, about 9 off in the dirt. Yup, that pic is taken here at the house in Reed Point, MT.cc
Reply:hey cc can you shoot my a couple of more pictures of that miller machine. I would like to look at the machine a little bit more.ThanksAaron
Reply:Will do, sometime this morning I will get to it, and post maybe at lunch if everything computer-wise works cricket. You might have to go to my imageshak and look at it there, I never could get them to post here for the original first post, so just used the craigslist link. Will let you know how things go.cc
Reply:having hell getting a pic or a thumbnail to post, works sometimes, sometimes not. So,if you have time, go here, click more to get the full first page, and browse them, lots of miller pics I popped this afternoon along with all my other iron.http://profile.imageshack.us/user/cablecat/cc

Reply:I liked the pic of that Miller sitting in the back of that old Binder pickup!!!! I like them old Binders Sorry to highjack the thread
Reply:All harrassment and party goofoffs aside, I appreciate the interest in the welder, I have had some pretty solid hits on it both locally and abroad from this site and a couple of word of mouth business' that I frequent. Might even get it sold in time to pay bills for March! Work is still slow, my old boss is headed to Alaska for a drilling job, and there are some specialized jobs in Russia coming up maybe so it would seem I need to go find a passport. I did recieve a down payment on an engine rebuild, so I have at least one weeks work ahead of me.Thanks guys, laine |
