I made a Christmas star today. It's 3 feet high and 2 feet wide. This will be used on a live Nativity scene. Used about 20' of 1/4" round rod, a package of LED icicle  lights and a whole lot of small zip ties. Making the wire frame was simple... but the lights drove me crazy. Somehow I managed to route 18' feet of twisty wires. I now have a new appreciation for Christmas displays.

Reply:Nice, you even made in time for CHRISTMAS. I would start now hoping to complete for next year. What you gonna use it for during the summer ? Hang bird feeders on it ? Or a trellis ? Nice design for many ideas.

Reply:Very cool!  I really like the effect of the lights - they give a twinkling effect.  Our church is performing their 50th Living Nativity this year.  We currently use a white plastic star - I believe it is called a Moravian star.  At any rate, I may steal your design at some point in the future for our Nativity.  Thanks for sharing and inspiring!JoeLast edited by AlabamaJoe; 12-09-2013 at 07:40 AM.
