Some people like to work with pipe.  I do too.I have an old Hossfield hydraulic bender with a few dies.  I'm now having fun with aluminum but these are a couple of my fondest projects.  I have a bunch more photos, double helix anyone, and some bar stools made with fullered and bent pipe but it seems the photos are too large for this website, double doggone darn. Reply:Very nice work!  Is that a truck bumber, with the duck and the cattails?  They look great with just the bent tubing, but the paint adds so much more.KevKevin / Machine_Punk from The Aerodrome Studio - Lincoln PowerMIG 210 MP - Meco N Midget w/custom welding station - Vintage Victor 100Current Projects: The Aerodrome Studio

Reply:The flames were delivered raw to Quality Powder Coating in Farmers Branch, Texas.  Their guys like to see me come in because I always bring in the different.  This one I told their powder guru to have fun and he knocked it out of the stadium with his choices and application. Reply:I found some small photos, the helix was made with 16 gauge 1 3/8" galvanized fence tubing, mostly because my engineer buds told me it was impossible for a rube to do it.the bar and stools were made with 1" schedule forty pipe Attached Imageslife is good

Reply:Harv, you are sick.  Like cool sick.  I saw your posts about the DNA fence a long while back and was impressed.  I was even more impressed about how you help people in less than fortunate countries.  Bless you."USMCPOP" First-born son: KIA  Iraq 1/26/05Syncrowave 250 w/ Coolmate 3Dialarc 250, Idealarc 250SP-175 +Firepower TIG 160S (gave the TA 161 STL to the son)Lincwelder AC180C (1952)Victor & Smith O/A torchesMiller spot welder

Reply:Thanks for all the kind comments. I'm working on a project right now that I have been on for over a year.  It's my swan song fence job.The horizontal wood is 3/16" X 5" bar stock that was punched, hot dip galvanized, powdercoated, and then decorated.  The color is two mils into the powder.  Amazing process. The posts are 3" 11 gauge tubing finished, hot dip galvanized, powdercoated, and then wood grained. The gate is a 2" ( 2 3/8" O.D.) schedule forty galvanized pipe back bone that was powder coated.  The accents are hand formed 3/8" square stock (thanks Riley Mcmillen for the magic bender) that is powdercoated.  The big pieces of pipe between the accents are pieces of 4" Rigid tubing that was powdercoated and then wood grained. All the fasteners are stainless.  The footage is over five hundred feet.  Yes.  It is probably the most expensive simple ranch fence in Texas. Reply:Yeah, I know I have too much fun.  If you like the gate above you're half way there.  Inside we're discussing the installation of roses, all aluminum huge roses, powdercoated bright colors.I'm one of those people that believe too much is often just enough.life is good
Reply:harvGreat original style and design.  The caliber of your work identifies the builder. What are the portholes in the duck panel for?Your sign is the best piece of shameless selfpromotion I've seen in years.Opus
Reply:Wow! What cool signs, love the flame. Your gates are amazing, very unique and well crafted, very ambitious but you pull them off wonderfully. Excellent and top notch work!
Reply:Two outside holes are for brake/tail, inside of those are back up and the off center one with the downward tilt is cargo.  I'm glad you like the flames.  Since I'm going out of the fence business, too old I guess, I'm looking for a restaurant that wants the ultimate menu holder.   Originally Posted by OPUS FERROharvGreat original style and design.  The caliber of your work identifies the builder. What are the portholes in the duck panel for?Your sign is the best piece of shameless selfpromotion I've seen in years.Opus

Reply:If a client wants a drawing up front I suggest they go with someone else.  All of my stuff comes out of that dark place between my ears.  I try not to do the same thing, again.  What is interesting about this is I will have an idea, sometimes for years, and then someone will want me to go there.  And then sometimes it's all about a problem someone has and I get to have fun trying to fix it.
