You guys have probably already seen this, but man it blew my mind, man has a vision...life is good
Reply:wroughtn harvThey would have a lot more fun if they had a fitter on their team.Opus
Reply:Saw that vid before and I too was blown away.  Even after watching it, I'd screw it up.  I can't get the cuts right even if I tried to copy the guy.  I can't picture the stuff in my mind correctly.  I weld up a lot of propane tanks for wood stoves and smokers etc.... It's so much easier using stick welding on that dirty steel.  Using SMAW on propane tanks sure saves time on needless grinding & metal prep, prior to laying down a bead.Lincoln Power Mig 216Lincoln AC/DC-225/125Miller  625 X-Treme PlasmaMiller 211 Forney 95FI-A 301HF 91110Victor Journeyman O/PMilwaukee DaytonMakita  Baileigh NRA Life Member

Reply:The ultimate in recycling. Kinda reminds me of the vision it takes to convert old tires into horse swings and such that I see at playgrounds. That stuff blows me away. Reply:Very impressive. I think he did that before.
Reply:I'm sure this isn't the first time.  The fitter statement made me smile. Some day I'm going to tackle the welding world with the philosophy I'm having so much fun wrestling the other world with.  It's called, "different, not less."  I'm sure the welders are going to be tougher nuts to crack than human beings are.I don't claim to be anyone like the propane tank artist by a long shot.  But my pipeliner and aluminum furniture quality tig buds all mention they would like to work with me on a project because their stuff is all cookie cutter and my claim to fame is, "the only thing better than first is only."  I drive them crazy, I guess it's the seat of the pants thing.  Until you've developed the self confidence, make that the prejudice against working with the safety net it can be very scary to say the least.Anyhow, the different but not less thing is the acknowledgement and appreciation that if we were all A type personalities nothing would get done.  On the other hand, without the occasional A type nothing would get done either because they're not called followers for nothing.  Bottom line, different, but not less.My buds, the real welders, are detail oriented freaks, bless their poor hearts.  It's got to be perfect and they ain't going where there is any doubt about the outcome.  Me on the other hand see welding skills as something I wish I had but don't have the time to acquire.  It's a tool to enable me to get to where I want to go with an idea.I'll be the first to admire quality welds and be blown totally away because I know what it takes to get there.  But I'm also the first to look at something made that is totally unique and be equally blown away. The sad thing about this is my welding buds don't let it all hang out because they don't feel their stuff would be any good.  And some of the really great artists in metal don't go there because they don't feel they have the welding skills required.Last edited by wroughtn_harv; 12-12-2013 at 10:27 AM.life is good
Reply:Very cool stuff. Looks like some nice thick stuff in those tanks!
Reply:Ya, thick stuff, and around here, NOT CHEAP.... even old tanks bring big $$$$$.....
