Ever buy a fire place grate log holder just to have the cheap POS bend / melt in a good fire with heavy logswell here is one I did for my uncle who has a place in Montana did his initials FHFmade another for our ranch and sold a few more like them Attachment 559811Attachment 559821You would burn the house down trying it with that one...Made from 3/4 and 1/2 inch rebar scrapHow about some dinger cowboy / horseshoe artI did business signs and a ranch gates with horseshoes for letters did a couple using draft horse shoes  for capital lettersI no longer have a forge or anvil and to do signs you need themthe triangles were potato digger chain that was dumped in a field by who ever changed them out 1/2 or so and somewhat high carbonhad a nice ringAttachment 559831Pic was from the back so mirror image of our mail box Attachment 559841I also made the fireplace poker out of that digger chain about 3 ft with a big D handle ...A real good one for when you heat your house with the fireplace type not those cheap junk ones that bend and aren't good for anything but looking atI been looking through old photos I will see if I can find some more of them old project picsBacked my CATMA over your CARMA oops clusmy me  What would SATAN do ?? Reply:Now that fire place grate will hold up. My Dad would go through 2 to 3 a year. An old man told me about useing grade 6 rebar and said it would last. I built his out of 1" I think and it lasted over 20 years and still looked OK.
