Made from an old Costco Stainless table that I got for free about a year ago when i bought my latest welding machine from Craigslist....... The table has been in my garage doing nothing for all that time........ Well..... I found a use for it finally..... but had to do some cleaning first.......I also had to cut the rounded edges off and take it to school to use the shear........A couple pics to get started.....The table top as it was..........With the edges removed.....With some cleaning to reveal what lies beneath.......Precision TIG 185 and MP 210Bobcat 225NTCutmaster 42O/A tanks.... 2 Argon tanks...... 2 C25 TanksFacebook...... Reply:Free stainless is always good. A few years ago the Armory replaced the industrial stove in the kitchen with a larger one. They ended up removing one of the stainless prep tables. Just so happen I caught the caretaker on his way to the scrap dumpster with it on a forklift. I stopped him and asked what he was doing. He said throwing out this old table. Like Hell you are. You know how much a sheet of that stuff cost? I cut it up and used some of it for some signs and letters. The rest of it I donated to the local high school shop. Nice box Fexal. If you cant fix it with a hammer, it must be an electrical problem."Boy, everyone starts with a full bag of luck and an empty bag of experience. Reply:I had a second set to do and I had to finish it tonight so I can hand deliver it tomorrow afternoon....Honestly.... not as happy with this set...... it burned 4 drill bits and broke 2 taps........ in fact the poorly drilled holes and bad taps were turned upside down and welded to the bottom....... so I started over on the other side....... and I wasn't able to polish the box because my high grit flappers were leaving burn marks..........the whole job almost seemed possessed........I had to order Lexan twice because I kept messing up the drilled holes as they weren't matching the tapped holes in the stainless.......Lesson learned...... go slow and steady..... don't let the orders come in faster than you can produce quality products by your best standards at that time.............While this customer will not likely notice what I view as mistakes....... the fact is... I notice.......PICS of set 2 before vacation......Precision TIG 185 and MP 210Bobcat 225NTCutmaster 42O/A tanks.... 2 Argon tanks...... 2 C25 TanksFacebook...... Reply:Fex,Very cool. Can I add a touch of uniqueness to your next one? I used to be into car audio and we would light the plexiglass with different colored neon. You couldn't see the actual light, but the light carried through the plexiglass and you could see the color. So nowadays, nobody is using neon. Everyone has LEDs. The plus is that you could hide a little 9 volt battery on the underside with a hidden switch that is triggered by one of the allen bolts being seated in the bottom of the box. So the light would only come on when the box was closed. LEDs go forever on batteries. So that is my challenge for you. Add one more detail to it. The light is seen indirectly at the edge of the glass where it is cut or where you engrave it. Reply:Hey, that sucks when your under pressure for sure. Just a thought, what if you cut and drilled the lexan first ? Then set it on box and use a transfer punch on the box ?http://www.harborfreight.com/28-piec...-set-3577.html Use the 25% coupon. I got them and they still work.

Reply:If the customer is using an Allen wrench to open the box may I suggest switching to this style of hardware You wouldn't need the washer. Reply:Fex You need to build a miniature boom hoist to move the boxes around. Maybe a miniature hand truck would do. Mac |
