Hey all,I just bought a new CK9F (flex) torch package and I was wondering if anyone had the max amperage for the torch with a less than 100% duty cycle.Im wondering if I can do 150A @60% or 175A at 30% or something like that.Curious more than anything. I have a #17 torch that i can swap back on, but i would prefer to know my limits before I melt the new torch head or superflex lead.Matt
Reply:Can't answer your question other than shoot an email or phone call to CK and ask them. However, for me that's why I run the torch cable under my left arm from behind and drape over the back of my neck and down to my right arm/hand so if it gets uncomfortable on my neck I know it's time to let it cool off.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:Thanks.Almost all of the welding I do is less than 125A. I can only think of a few times I turn it up (usually to initiate a puddle on aluminum faster, then throttle back) but like I mentioned, its better to know limitations before I go and muck things up.
Reply:Called CK. They said never to go over the rating of 125a. Even though it can weld all day at that. Reflective heat and such doesn't allow them to warranty the torch if used over it. Good to know. Just odd. Sent from my SGH-I317M using Tapatalk now Free
