I need a few parts for a Lincoln SP 175 Plus.  Not too many things, just some extra stuff you have lying around in your toolboxes.  Stuff you have no further need for.Items needed:1.  8" spool adapter, so I can run the larger spools of wire,2.  0.23-0.30 wire roller for the wire feed - this one has the double cuts in it.3.  0.45 wire roller4.  Liners I have to get new, as the manual says once one has been modified, it can only fit that particular gun.5.  Gauge/Regulator for shielding gas.  I'll pay for this if it's inexpensive enough.  I can get it off Evil-Bay for about $30.00, just hate giving them any money if I can avoid it.6.  Shielding gas hose with fitting.  I can get one of these also for about $14 off EB, but if you have one you want to get rid of, I'm easy.  Same reason to avoid EB as before.I'm trying to keep my expenses low on this welder, don't want something you may need later on, only stuff you have no use for now.  I will watch & if there is something I can supply I'll trade.  Not much to trade in the nursing field though, so you may be out of luck.I'm a firm believer in "Pay it Forward" & have helped many a person out with things I won't need & they do.  And there have been times I've received things without asking.  I figure it will all balance out in the long run, so I give when I can also.  No strings attached either.  Just friends helping each other out.I'll keep this thread open if anyone else wants something that someone has & can afford to give up.  So post em up.  BTW, this isn't a freebee, get something for nothing, this is people helping people.MarkI haven't always been a nurse........Craftsman 12"x36" LatheEnco G-30B MillHobart Handler 175Lincoln WeldandPower 225 AC/DC G-7 CV/CCAdd a Foot Pedal to a Harbor Freight Chicago Electric 165A DC TIG PapaLion's Gate Build
Reply:You already got an $800 welder for $75. Now you want hand outs? Sheesh.
Reply:Not hand outs, only a few extra parts somebody doesn't need anymore.I may have a few items I'll send to someone that needs it too.  This is a two way street my friend, if I have it & don't forsee a use, it's whoever asks first. And yes, I fell into this deal with the Lincoln welder.  I'm not bashful, just lucky for once.  Maybe I should have played the PowerBall that day?MarkI haven't always been a nurse........Craftsman 12"x36" LatheEnco G-30B MillHobart Handler 175Lincoln WeldandPower 225 AC/DC G-7 CV/CCAdd a Foot Pedal to a Harbor Freight Chicago Electric 165A DC TIG PapaLion's Gate Build
Reply:I could really use a Lincoln SP-175 if you have one laying around you would want to give! #1. If you don't like what I wrote, or if it offends you, then don't read it!#2. I am living life the way I see fit, if you don't like the way I'M living, tough sh**!
Reply:Congrats on getting the welder cheap. Sometimes we get lucky but we also have to avoid appearing greedy. To me and this is just my opinion but paying it forward is where you see a need that you can fill and you help someone out. Then possibly someday if you need it someone will hopefully return the favor.A REQUEST for someone to pay it forward and then list items you want kinda screws up the integrity of the Pay it Forward mentality. Changes it to the I WANT IT FREE mentality.Although you did not intend to sound greedy it did come across that way. You may have been better served and certainly less chastised by asking if anyone had what you want and offer to pay for it. THEN maybe someone that had what you need would be compelled to PAY IT FORWARD and offer those items to you free. If nobody offered it free you still may have received a decent deal on them compared to new items.I have been the recipient of the Pay it Forward trend and it is great. I also have been Paying it Forward my entire life (although it was not called that) and continue to do so. But personally I would not be inspired to Pay it Forward by request. Just does not work for me.Thanks to those that helped me out in the past and I hope I have adequately assisted others enough to have a least repaid what I have received.
Reply:thats a good movie
Reply:Ok, then look at it this way, if there is something that I might have available, just post it here.  And if the readers think I'm being greedy, I apologize now.  Yes Bob, I didn't intend the original post to "sound greedy".  The missus was talking to me as I was typing so I was trying to listen & type at the same time.  Re-reading it, it does sound greedy doesn't it?  Ooops, my bad.Anyway, anybody reading this, post up small items that you might need.  Maybe someone (not necessarily me) might be able to provide it to you.  I will say if I have something someone needs, I'll get in touch with them to find out an address & send it.  No strings attached.Heck, I'll even start.......I have a Chip McCormick 1911 magazine I'll send to who ever wants it.  It's brand new, only loaded once & found out it doesn't work in my gun.  I have others that do work, so I'm not out anything.  Just PM me your address, it's yours. If anyone has anything I've listed as needing, let me know.  I'm sure I can find other stuff too.  Not all for the shop either.  Maybe something for the missus?Last edited by MarkBall2; 04-15-2009 at 10:28 PM.MarkI haven't always been a nurse........Craftsman 12"x36" LatheEnco G-30B MillHobart Handler 175Lincoln WeldandPower 225 AC/DC G-7 CV/CCAdd a Foot Pedal to a Harbor Freight Chicago Electric 165A DC TIG PapaLion's Gate Build

I run a shop and never throw or give away anything, because you never know what you will need the next day. Good luck hope it works for you.Aaron
Reply:I'm doing that too.  Also stopping by the local LWS this weekend.  I'll buy it if I find it, problem is the local people don't always have what I need.  I'm in no hurry.  I don't have to have this ready for my son til this fall.MarkI haven't always been a nurse........Craftsman 12"x36" LatheEnco G-30B MillHobart Handler 175Lincoln WeldandPower 225 AC/DC G-7 CV/CCAdd a Foot Pedal to a Harbor Freight Chicago Electric 165A DC TIG PapaLion's Gate Build

Reply:Mine biggie is bartering for things or services I might need. Hell now the IRS even taxes you on bartering goodies and services. I recently did some work on a lawn care service trailer with a broken axle! in return they trimmed all my trees,  mowed and fertilized the yard.I have to agree with duanne and others when it comes to giving away welding equipment or supplies. Keep dreaming. If someone is giving it away its usually because its broken.Co-Own CNC shop:Miller :1251 plasma cutter, MaxStar 700 TIG/Stick, & XMT 456 Multiprocess Welder.&  2 Hypertherm HPR260's Plasma CutterSorry I had a bad stroke but now I am back.

Reply:A barter or trade can not be taxed, a tax can only be placed on a dollar amount, if you trade even across, its a wash and no money was exchanged, so how is it going to be taxed?Besides, the gov, already gets the larger share of your money now anyway, after you pay income taxes, then sales taxes, excise taxes, property taxes, a sur tax on all sorts of things, road use taxes on fuel, and so on and so on, the gov, probably gets about 60% or more of your hard earned money as it is!A lot of people don't realize just how much money the government takes of their money in taxes, cause they don't actually see all the taxes or realize that a huge part of what they pay for things, and just how hiked up the price of things is due to taxes!#1. Reply:That's what the book showed as available accessories. One roller had a cut on one side for the 0.23 wire size, the other side has a cut for the 0.30 wire size.Another roller has a cut for 0.45 wire size.I have a 0.35 slot cut in the roller I have now.  If nobody has them I have to stop at LWS this weekend for 0.35 wire, I'll check to see if they have any.MarkI haven't always been a nurse........Craftsman 12"x36" LatheEnco G-30B MillHobart Handler 175Lincoln WeldandPower 225 AC/DC G-7 CV/CCAdd a Foot Pedal to a Harbor Freight Chicago Electric 165A DC TIG PapaLion's Gate Build

Reply:You are right Boostinjdmon that account I have traded for items like boats and trailers before, and when I went to the DMV, they wanted to see an affidavit of sale so that they could charge for the value! It isn't right actually, small low value items that are used has already had taxes paid on it, and shouldn't be taxed again, it just isn't right.now large expensive items are a different story, as the government has a stake in it in the form of titling and keeping track of it like boats, cars houses and such and the upkeep of things that are for the use of said items like lakes, roads, drainage ditches, and so on.MarkBall2Sorry for hijacking your thread for that rant, I guess its just that its that time of year again, and I get a little cranky about taxes!Last edited by Ken Dennis; 04-17-2009 at 02:08 AM.#1. Reply:On top of that they now say that it is worth X amount of dollars whether you got it free or paid $5.00 for it you are taxed by current market value which may be a couple hundred bucks  the government truely sucks whhen it comes to stuff like this.Last edited by fbrown333; 04-17-2009 at 02:12 AM.Reason: spelling[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]weekend metal melter and all around pain
Reply:Not a problem.I had a 1976 Ford pickup & needed a car.  Traded for a 1974 Dodge Charger & $10.00.  Sales tax was on the $10.00.  This was done at a dealership & they wrote it on the bill of sale.  County was plenty pizzed off, but it was legal.Maybe in a trade like that, make sure you give & get a bill of sale with you paying a $10.00 "boot" in trade.  That way, sales tax is collected on the $10.00, property tax will still be what the county has it valued at.Now on to our regularly scheduled trading thread.MarkI haven't always been a nurse........Craftsman 12"x36" LatheEnco G-30B MillHobart Handler 175Lincoln WeldandPower 225 AC/DC G-7 CV/CCAdd a Foot Pedal to a Harbor Freight Chicago Electric 165A DC TIG PapaLion's Gate BuildIf your giving away 1911 mags I'll take em Yup

Reply:Only what's listed above.  I have a line on a flow meter & gauge set, so that's out.  Also picked up some new tips & wire today, so that's out too.  AirGas didn't have any 8" spool adapters, the guy there said they get them all the time for about $3.  I'll just keep checking & pick one up there.I'll get this in the mail in the next couple days.MarkMarkI haven't always been a nurse........Craftsman 12"x36" LatheEnco G-30B MillHobart Handler 175Lincoln WeldandPower 225 AC/DC G-7 CV/CCAdd a Foot Pedal to a Harbor Freight Chicago Electric 165A DC TIG PapaLion's Gate Build
