"Ya gotta make 2 new ones just like the sample"...I was told..I don't think so.I am not making them like the sample. The sample has a welded end journal on it and I would just assume use one shaft instead of 2....It looks like grease but it 'aint...See?Well... I am not doing that! This is how we do it!Parts...Tube end.Note the "Inside/Outside" turning job..Both ends of both tubes get the same size inside and outside and the depth (.250) all are EXACTLY the same..Heat outer ring and install first then heat the tube under the ring and install the inner head..After cooling enough so nothing moves tack in 3 places and save #4 for your weld start point..Then flip over and repeat process..One more time.....zap!Last edited by zapster; 12-24-2013 at 01:34 PM.I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:OK..After setting up the positioner weld as needed...Purdy huh? After cooling and holding by the flange indicate the tube in as best you can on both ends then turn 2 new spots on the tube and then face/bore the end for the shaft..Then flip end for end and repeat using the new spots for indicating..Install journal shaft and weld..Note the handrest for the positioner..GET COMFY before welding..It makes a huge difference. Now we wait until Thursday for finishing..Now it's time for me to go out and fill the firewood box for this evening..Gonna get very cold around here and I don't feel like getting firewood at midnight.Later....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
