Reply:I am not sure of the brand of plasma you are looking at but one that comes with "some assembley required" may be a red flag.  There are tons on posts on plasma cutters and what to avoid.  I agree, save the heartache and invest once.  Even used good machines are better than new sub standard machines.  Dan D.Manipulator Of Metal

"I usually say just the same and i'm a CL cruiser....it's just the ac/dc tig welders are pricey!!! and i'm adament about getting good with aluminum so i settled (for now)I may of screwed the pooch on the plasma cutter because i'm anxious.   I paid 300 but it's not the end of the world...if its garbage i'll just return it and save some extra coin and try to get a decent cutter.  I did however order the AHP200x 3rd gen. so i can get a start on Tig and practice stick. Reply:Plasma cutters are incredibly difficult to repair when they break.
