So recently got into doing some exhaust work, downpipes work and things like that. I'm having a real mother of a time getting these pieces with crazy bends to stay still while I do some welding on them. Was thinking about this cheap table from eastwoodhttp://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-set...ing-table.htmlhowever everything I see seems to be small tube or square in a frame shape. Does anyone have anything or are there kits for these that can hold say a 4 foot or longer piece of pipe vertically upright then have some supports to where it will hold it in place?Torchmate 2x2 CNC with Flashcut CNC controlsHypertherm Powermax45 Esab ET220i Razorweld 195 MigRazorweld 200ac/dc TigTormach 770, Tormach xstechRazorweld, Vipercut/Vipermig, SSC Foot Pedal Dealer
Reply:I just use a piece of 80/20 15x15mm t slotted aluminum barI have a holy table and just bolt it verticallyYou could do somethign similar with a piece of angle iron or square tube, just weld on a bolt or drill and tap a hole for quick removal.

Reply:I would build a universal style vertical tube holding jig. Meaning a piece of ~1" channel welded vertically to a ~3/16" plate using clamps to hold it down from there like previously stated. This way you can throw this fixture up on a table, clamp it down, and get to work and when you're done just throw it back in the corner of the garageEdit: I found a picture on my phone of an example I did at work for a fender mount on a 53 ft connex trailer but I have no clue how to upload it, and I'm typing this from my iPhone currently too.Last edited by WeldOnTopOfSlag; 03-15-2015 at 12:26 AM.Reason: Additional comment
