So my brother is getting married and the giving of gifts is in order. Thing is I would like to build them something rather just buy something. Problem is I am short on ideas. I'm thinking maybe a grill for him and a fancy table or wall hanger for her. But I'm really not sure. What do you guys think?Ranger 250 GXTSmith Gas Axe
Reply:Make him a pipeliner grill if you can find the geometries? I doubt anyone's going to be giving him a BBQ pit. For the girl, that's a good question. Maybe a rack to hold pots and pans in a cabinet so she doesn't have to pull them all out to get to the one at the bottom?
Reply:I think you should buy her a welder. Enough of letting women sit around the kitchen barefoot, let her get out there and fix his stuff for him!250 amp Miller DialArc AC/DC StickF-225 amp Forney AC Stick230 amp Sears AC StickLincoln 180C MIGVictor Medalist 350 O/ACut 50 PlasmaLes
Reply:I would say it depends.Give us an idea of what they like to do? Fishing, baking, etc...Do he have a truck, she has a car?Grill is always a good one (atleast for most people)You could make here a kitchen island, and end table, coffee table.Bumper for the truck/SUV, headache rack.Even a book case.Thought about a table for the porch? Maybe a picnic table if the like to grill or just have friends outside.Coat hanger.Have to tell us a little more about them, what they want, what they need. Gifts are great, gifts that are made are best. But a gift that can be used instead of just oh that's nice...Eastwood 135 mig welderHobart Stickmate LX 235 AC / 160 DCHobart EX Tig 165

Reply:Does he like horseshoe art ?? Maybe make wine bottle holders for each table. You could give them to one person from the table. Whoever has the number one one bottom of chair gets it. Here some I did, http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php...s-Sticky/page2Or these ? http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php...+bottle+holder
Reply:If they have a backyard, how about one of those doorway arch things for the lawn or near a garden? You could make it out of square tubing and bend two identical arches and weld it all together. The arches would be about two feet apart or so with scroll work in between them. I would make it a good seven feet high. It would be a good idea to make holes in the bottom sides for some sort of tent stakes or something.Something like this would be around forever. Reply:My cousin always loved the wrought iron coffee table I made for his mom years ago. So when he got married, I made him a similar one with a tile top and two matching end tables. I've got picts on the computer at home. I'll have to remember to ask if he's still using them as that was almost 15-20 years ago now..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size.
