Can helium tanks be repurposed for anything other than helium?

Reply:I assume you are talking about standard welding cylinders vs the cheap freon style cylinders used for balloons. If it's a welding cylinder than yes you can typically get it filled with any inert gas, though most places simply exchange vs fill. My place will swap and similar sized cylinder for any other gas.The cheap balloon cylinders can be repourposed for small grills or forges..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:Helium, argon, nitrogen, and C-25 cylinders have CGA-580 valves, so there is some interchangeability there. |
