I've been needing a low cost bead roller. These look very similar, any idea if they are the same tool just different brands? Any direct experience with any of these tools would be appreciated.Eastwood Fabhttp://www.eastwood.com/economy-bead...-mandrels.htmlWoodward Fab WFBR6http://www.woodwardfab.com/woodward_...ad_rollers.htmHarbor Freighthttp://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=34104
Reply:The eastwood and woodward are most likely the same, the HF one is definatly a cheap knock off. Thinner metal all around on it.Come try it out and stay a while.
Reply:the HF is 3/8" thick while the other 2 are 1/2" thick.none of them are thick enough!google mods for HF bead roller and you will come up with several great creations. performing the necessary stiffening/strengthening mods make it a nice bead roller. I bought one for my father for xmas and made it into a real machine.......it works like a proper bead roller now! I have used the woodward one also, and it needs the same mods that are popular with the HF unit. buy the cheapest one.....you WILL have to mod it!!!!
Reply:Thanks. I've seen the various mods online. At this point I think I'll look at the Mitler or the Irvan-Smith. I need to spend the time working on the car and not on the tools. Appreciate the tips.
Reply:here's a piece I made on a modded HF bead roller. I was just messing around and this was what I made. |
