Im trying a different approach now.....Since the issue is cracking across the mounting holes I decided to beef up the areas around the holes rather than install a gusset.....With the Landing Pads installed the stock mounts stay happy so just repairing the damaged cases back to original with some help should be a fix for the wheelie guys......We will see Miller Dynasty 350Twenty Six HammersThree Crow BarsBig Rock
Reply:I think this guy must have had some cracking problems, so he just lightened the front end. Reply:I am not a Harley guy.....was it crash damage or do they have an issue going on? It is tough making prototype repairs or prototype anything for that matter. I hope you nailed it.
Reply:Harley went to a Twin Cam motor in 99 incorporating rubber mounts that made a vibration free ride. Then around 04 the kids started riding wheelies with these bikes, long wheelies......At the end of the long wheelies they would slam the front end down causing the rubber mounted engine to move farther than its normal distance while riding down the road. This extra amount of movement would snap the front motor mounts off across the bolt holes. Harley knowing their product considered this breakage rider abuse and would reject any warranty repairs.....This is an expensive fix, Cases alone are 1,000.00 and exchange case sale. Takes 3 weeks to get the new caseswith your old serial number stamped in.......So you get your new cases and are right back in the same spot again...With my "Landing Pad" you can wheelie all you want and save the hassle of broken cases......I have a set on a 2013 FXDX and so far no cracks and lots of wheelies.. Reply:So the final fix so far is the pad plus the beefed up mounting area around the holes ?? So here's a question, have you fixed any in advance of a breakage? Seems like that would kinda be the ultimate, beef up the mounting before it ever breaks or at least add the pad 1st. Good job with the fix."The things that will destroy America are prosperity at any price, peace at any price, safety first instead of duty first, the love of soft living and the get rich quick theory of life." -Theodore Roosevelt
