Hi, I thought this an interesting concept, If a Robot was doing vertical up welding it would it would move quickly back an forth an pushing the puddle up at the same time, I tried this, an it seems to work. "Well sort off". I just wondered what everyone thinks? esp.DSW. Thanks, Josey
Reply:Most of the robots I have seen welding were using hot short circuit or spray transfer mig. If they needed to weld vertical I would think they would be using pulse to help control the puddle and doing a slight weave to keep the bead flat and wetting at the toes. Why would a robot weld vertical? Just have the part on a positioner to work with the robot and watch it weld really fast.
