Its been a while since my last shed10 critique (4 years or 5).100a peddled down to 90a I estimate1/16 e3 tungsten #8 cup, no lens (I know) 14cfh argonAny pointers? I am not the best yet at steady speed... But I'm welding daily to work on it. Matt Attached Images

Reply:Probably the width of the weld on the topside of the pipe. Looks like you had the torch tilted back a bit at the 12:00 area. Have you tried running about 65-75 amps 100 is way too much imo.
Reply:Thanks. Yes I have tried those amps, but the weld doesn't have enough power to get right down into the root unless I do 2 passes. Sent from my SGH-I317M using Tapatalk

Reply:What makes it a better option vs using more heat to do it in one pass? Its only ~1/8" wall with a bevel, and its not open root.
Reply:My new CK welding torch came in last night.Unreal difference being back to a quality torch. Rotation of the torch is possible again and the flex head flexes properly.stepped out the back door while the wife was watching TV and made a quick pass on the new setup to put some heat into some tube Although its not shed 10 SS, i think that the china rubber #26 torch that came with my everlast welder was finally becoming a hinderance.  I had a Weldcraft #17 with flex hose on my Lincoln 185 when i sold it and remember the everlast peice being really combersome in comparison.  this #9 superflex is like a whole different ball game!Picture of the pass i made.2.5" butt weld ferrule to 2.5" mild steel tube70A on the main panel, peddled down to ~50a1/16 308L filler#8 gas lens1/16" e3 hybrid tungsten6L/hr (12cfh) argonWeld closeup by HellaFab, on Flickr
Reply:You using a gap? Try around 70amps. Jumbo 10-12 Cup. Torch all the way.
Reply:Razor edge bevel on shed 10. Not using a gap on the 0.065" stuff. Sent from my SGH-I317M using Tapatalk
