There is a local auction coming up in the next day where a Coolmate 3 is available. It is being sold as a single unit, no welder with it. Auction does not state if it is operational. It may go for under $100. I am not familiar with these on what goes wrong. If it doesn't work, are potential repairs expensive? What types of things go wrong - pump, control board, clogs, etc.? Any advice is appreciated. ThanksMillermatic 252Hypertherm Powermax 45TIG in the near future
Reply:No control board on a CM-3. Just a 115VAC motor with close-coupled Procon vane pump, tank, heat exchanger core, filter and mechanical flow indicator.Pumps are easy to rebuild and parts readily available if needed. See if you can plug it in to check if it works. The pump has graphite vanes and cartridge designed for dry running so a quick plug-in to see if it runs won't hurt a thing - unless it's already bad.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:Less than a $100 is a bargain. Snap it up even if it needs a pump rebuild. Rebuild service usually costs about $65 to $90.Weld like a "WELDOR", not a wel-"DERR" MillerDynasty700DX,Dynasty350DX4ea,Dynasty200DX,Li ncolnSW200-2ea.,MillerMatic350P,MillerMatic200w/spoolgun,MKCobraMig260,Lincoln SP-170T,PlasmaCam/Hypertherm1250,HFProTig2ea,MigMax1ea.
Reply:Thanks for the inputs. Bought the unit for $160. More than I wanted to pay, but based on the inputs I will still be dollars ahead. Couldn't test it to see if anything worked, but will be picking it up Monday and will find out then. Thanks.TedMillermatic 252Hypertherm Powermax 45TIG in the near future |
