Hi guys!I have actually two questions regarding welding. They are quite basic, but I haven't got so much experience yet, also since I am working in a design department. Question no 1. It it possible to do a full single bevel butt with root with a dimension from two sides? In ase it's possible, how do you do the root from the bottom side if you started with the upper?Question no 2.Also, is it always possible to do a full penetration welding? When would you not recommend to do full penetration
Reply:Yes you must arc gouge and grind the backside. All welds can be full pen and lots of todays engineers make them cause they are too lazy to calculate the stress in the joint. All welds are stronger than the base metal there is no need to reinforce the splice or do a z weld ,if you dont believe this go back to rivets! |
