I need an idler solenoid for 1974 SA200

I need an idler solenoid. A wire broke off mine very close to the housing. No way to repair it unfortunately. I can PayPal payment if it is under $25 or send a money order from my bank.

I'll email them.Quick troubleshooting question for ya'll.I was able to solder a wire to the stub that is coming out of the idler solenoid.I ohmd the coil and it read 26.5 which is real close to 25 ohms that the manual says it should be.I have continuity between the white wire coming off the pc board to the white wire at the solenoid and continuity between the brown wire going to the automatic/high idle switch and the other side of the solenoid.Is there a quick test to see where the problem lies?Last edited by shanghyd; 07-17-2009 at 07:56 PM.

Reply:The board has a good ground. None of the spade terminals are getting 12V. I put the meter on each terminal and no dice. Which termal has the 12V coming in to the board? The one from the reed switch?
Reply:I assume you mean 12v+ and no, the reed switch completes a ground to the board circuitry when an arc is struck which in turn opens the ground to the idler solenoid (de-energizes) and allows the engine to increase to weld speed.The only terminal that gets 12v+ is the one the yellow wire from the idler switch connects to which is the one to the far right as viewed from the back of the control panel with the PC board installed.The white wire terminal (far left) is the 'controlled' ground to the idler solenoid.The two terminals in the middle connect to the auxiliary outlet (brown) and combined black exciter/brown main generator shunt wires (single brown).  Which to which doesn't matter but I believe an earlier generation board had the 'white' terminal and the left of the two 'brown' terminals swapped.The red wire from the reed switch is usually soldered to its location between the 'yellow' and right hand 'brown' terminals.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
