Not the prettiest welds but my 20 ton press says they are strong. The big reason for using the 3/4 end plates is that I have about 50 pieces of 32" drop from a recurring job. Not all arms are done yet and the upper arm in the phote will have a roller conveyor on it leading to either a swivel mast bandsaw or a 14" cold saw. Sighting along the arm ends shows them to be just about dead on at the same level.Had to move each side once to drill the holes. All drilled waiting for base plates.Setting up on the table jigged up to locate plate. Milling machine tablefrom Fleabay with a base made from.....3/4 x 4 steel, same as the end plates.Base attachment detail.Brace attachment.
Reply:that's a boat load of drilling you've done there. you got a lot of patience to do all that precision work. did you use a mag drill?  nice photo's.i.u.o.e. # 15queens, ny and sunny fla
