OK. Maybe NOT. I bought a 1 x 3 meter piece of 1/4 hot roll and some 1 x 2 x 1/8" tubing. Gonna build some folding saw horses. Got an order for 30 pairs(3/4" PIPE). Gonna cut 18" off of that plate it at sunup. 39"x 5' final product. It'll just be a fixture to slap these horses together. I hope I-me-yo-( my head garden dude ) can do 100 pairs a month or so.I spent the money to make it "thought proof".I'll get it up tomorrow and start tacking on guides.Cut/drop/MIG.At least dat duh plan.I made these for Noah when he built that boat.Bubble gumTooth pixDuct tapeBlack glueGBMF hammerScrew gun --bad battery (see above)

Reply:I made a set similar to this over the weekend. Great space savers and tougher than anything you can buy.
Reply:If you going to make a whole bunch of these, consider just one chain in the middle insteada one on each side....It's just too time consuming to get both chains attached exactly the same length so the horse sets level when weighted.Any extra time you invest now designing it, will be saved exponentially once you start cutting/building in mass numbers, so design it with the whole production process in mind and look for ways in each step to save time, materials and consumables. Also reconsider using stick verses mig to keep your costs down in gas and/or flux core wire. |
