WANTED: air cooled 125 amp tig torch head

Hi all,I am in search of a 125 amp replacement tig torch head. Attached is a photo of it. It is a ProStar brand torch model 9, but I think it is a generic WP-17 style torch. I ran it over its rated capacity and burned the insulation off of the head as can be seen.Please let me know if you might have one available. How about a remote tig torch switch?Please advise,thanks,Tony Attached Images
Reply:Bummer.  Personally, I don't understand why every tig welder doesn't make themselves a water cooler.  The welder I purchased came with a large bernard water cooler, otherwise my first project would be a box for holding liquid and a pump to send the liquid around.Miller 330 a/bp water cooledI believe in gun control, I hold my gun with two hands.  If you want to know why, click here.Buy American or bye America.
Reply:Hi Pinjas,I use my tig torch on a field rig and not for extended periods of time.  I have a shop tig with a water cooler, but even then I have not had to use it.  I got into tig for welding the root pass on pipe and boiler tubes using scratch start and DC current, it was never for long periods and at lower amperages.Then I graduated to aluminum and found myself having to use higher amperages for more extended periods.  Since most repairs I do is in the field, I think it is easier to go to a higher rated air cooled torch than have to mess with a water cooler and lines.  I have a 200 amp air cooled torch but preferred the 125 amp as it has the remote switch on it. I paid the price for doing so.Now after this experience I am getting another remote switch (for the heavier torch) and want to rig up a quick connect system so I can easily switch torches on my high frequency unit as the job demands.  This would have prevented my burning the torch up.Come to think of it, I don't have a water cooled torch despite having the water tank and pump setup.  I learned using scratch start and air cooled torch and never varied from it.  I guess I got used to it and let it go at that.   I think I am a creature of habit.Thanks for your thoughts,Tony
