I'm in Gainesville north central Florida. I'd like to buy, or swap for a welder that has DC function. can be AC-DC, or AC-DC TIG, or  maybe just DC. can be 'wall juice' powered, or engine powered (gas, diesel, or steam :-). I prefer single phase, but if you have a three-phase only machine, please contact me anyway. I prefer older transformer-based machines, not the newfangled inverter types. also prefer near locations, but can travel 'somewhatish'. off-the-wall brands, ancient machines, rustbuckets, or defunct brand name machines all welcome. will buy known working, or unknown condition, or 'known non-funtioning', and maybe incomplete. this is for my own personal use; I have an AC-only Miller Thunderbolt I (bought new decades ago and still use which I) can offer in trade  or partial trade, if that has any appeal...preferences, most-favored highest:1. AC-DC TIG wall-juice powered (with either HF& a cooler, or both  if I get luckyI can, however, be realistic - I'll be glad to work out a buy from you even if yours has neither the cooler or the HF feature2. AC-DC machine, wall-juice powered3. some huge diodes, four, stud type, with or without heatsinks 4. DC machine, wall-juice powered5. thru 7. same as above except engine powered...machines I "like the looks of":hobart cyber-TIG (gigantic, blue...). also P&H welders, and Linde, and Chemetron, and OTC Daihen, Airco, A. O. Smith, Libby, Hornet, SureWeld, Systematics, older ESAB's, NCG, & I'm sure there's others...big ol' used welders are "scarce as hens teeth" around these parts. been watching craigslist and ebay too, for months - hasn't helped yet...replies appreciated direct into my e-mail inbox, for sure. attached image should help. thanks, guys, dave Attached Images

Reply:"all's well that ENDS well" lads I got me a nice ol' dialarc HFmy ol' dialarc AC-DC HF, day one (same day I got it home), prior to diagnose, fix, clean (inside and out), repaint, make new buggy, etcsame welder, post-repairs, with new "ackerman steering" dolly I made for it. *quite* proud of the dolly (it took a "criminal amount" of time to make, with just a drill press). steering linkage bars -alone- went through three iterations...thanks to all daveLast edited by dave_welder; 10-25-2009 at 10:28 AM.
