My Artistic welding table

Here is my welding table. It consists of 4" wide flange I beam that was bent for an opening to a tunnel. The top is a piece of 1/2"x4'x4' plate. I have square reciever at all 4 corners for mounting my vise or grinder. Then made receiver pockets under the table to store the vise and other tools if need be.

Reply:Thanx everyone. It was a great and fun project as I am always adding to it or subtracting as I go. Great thing about metal is you can weld on or cut off. The finished weight is roughly 600 lbs. The plate is about 325 lbs just alone as its a 4x4 sheet of 1/2". Ive added electrical outlets to it as well as a over head work light for those late evenings. Also on the bottom Ive added my own wheel kit that can lift the table up and roll it around, then disengage them to make the table solid.

Reply:Nice Wilton! I'm going to add same vice attachment idea to my table! Where would one find I beam bent that way? I would love that for my mail box aswell!
Reply:The I beam or technically its wide flange I beam or h beam, I got from a friend that works for a local iron workers union and they had it bent up for a tunnel. He gave it to me along with the 1/2" plate for the top of the table. So big steel factory's can bend this stuff, one around here would be Gerlingers steel factory in Redding,Ca.Galen
