Now that the welding table is finished, I can start on my cutting table. The base is 2"x2" and 2"x4" with a 4"x4" upright. The top of the upright will have a scissor jack along with two 2"x2" tubes that will lock and support the table once it is at the desired height. The slats are 1"x1/4" and can be removed for different applications. Attached ImagesTOO MANY TOOLS & NO MORE SPACE
Reply:The overall size is 27"x19" and the bottom is 3/8" thick with 1/4" x5" tall sides.I'm hoping to finish it this weekend so more pictures to come. Attached ImagesTOO MANY TOOLS & NO MORE SPACE
Reply:The table is finally finished. It seemed like every time I wanted to work on it the rain moved in. It lowers just enough to go under my welding table and raises up to about 38 inches. I am pleased with how it came out except for the fact that the paint is scratched off where the tubes slide against each other. The corner braces are scrap cut outs from the plasma table at work. I picked up some high temp paint for the top and sprayed the inside also which was probably not a good idea since all the heat will build up in there. Guess the paint will only burn off if it gets too hot. Attached ImagesTOO MANY TOOLS & NO MORE SPACE
Reply:The jack is a cheap H.F. scissor jack with a bolt drilled into the top plate to help keep the jack centered. The 3 1/2" bolts per tube are going to be replaced with knobs from McMaster. Attached ImagesTOO MANY TOOLS & NO MORE SPACE

Reply:Very cool design.
Reply:Nice job. Where did you buy your clamps that are on your welding table? I have a table that I want to drill holes and try that style clamp.

Reply:Hey Chris,Great design and execution of the plan.It fits neatly under your table. That is a good idea with lots of other applications. I think I will work on my burn box. Probably won't be that neat and well painted. Thanks for the thread.Burt _____________________Miller Syncrowave 250Millermatic 211Miller 375 Plasma Cutter Hobart Handler 12010FtDrillBit.com
Reply:I like it!  If you're going to use it tons, I suggest hacking off the part where the jack handle attaches, and weld on a large nut.  Just  hit that guy with an impact gun to raise / lower the beast.  Great work.-AaronJet 17.5" Drill Press1942 South Bend 16x84 Lathe1980s Miller 320A / BP --- 2013 Power Mig 2562012 Jet 7x12 Horizontal BandsawVictor O/A Setup
