Just finished fabbing the brackets to fit my 50 cal ammo can on the side of my 1975 Suzuki GT185. I will post more pics when I take it apart for paint. Let me know what you guys thinkLast edited by Bluto; 02-24-2014 at 03:58 AM.~Justin Manufacturing EngineerWWU Vehicle Research Institute c/o 2010
Reply:Won't hear the lock rattling over the twin stroke exhaust. Even with freshly packed baffles this little guy isn't quiet. If it becomes an issue I'll insulate it with a rubber cover (the lock that is).~Justin Manufacturing EngineerWWU Vehicle Research Institute c/o 2010
Reply:Also there's a layer of rubber between the brace and the ammo can, sort of like a gasket. Should help keep the vibrations dampened.~Justin Manufacturing EngineerWWU Vehicle Research Institute c/o 2010
Reply:The olive drab had been covered with ugly stickers and neon paint. I went with flat black as it seems to go with the bike well and is meant to blend in more than stand out.~Justin Manufacturing EngineerWWU Vehicle Research Institute c/o 2010

Reply:The plan is to do two eventually. I don't need to carry much so two .50 cal cans would be more than enough.Last edited by Bluto; 02-25-2014 at 09:33 AM.~Justin Manufacturing EngineerWWU Vehicle Research Institute c/o 2010

Reply:Yeah they're not easy to come by for the GT185 and I'm not confident enough to design my own... Yet~Justin Manufacturing EngineerWWU Vehicle Research Institute c/o 2010

Reply:Pretty sure 4 ma deuces would weigh as much as the bike itself. Probably even more fully stocked w/ammo.~Justin Manufacturing EngineerWWU Vehicle Research Institute c/o 2010

Reply:Originally Posted by G-sonThere is plenty of free software to do the calculations, you basically enter a few engine measurments and desired peak power rpm, and it spits out the design of a tuned exhaust. Sure, it's not the best possible tuned exhaust for that engine, but it's most likely better than the stock pipes on such an old bike. Even if they are a failure due to too peaky power delivery or something like that it still gives you a basic design to alter to get closer to what you want.
