I am not too happy with the amount of weight/money I will have on my cart I am building so I wanted some support brackets. Here's one of the shelves. So I wanted to make a bracket for giving me a little more support but using my press alone or a torch wasnt doing it.So I found a chunk of 1 inch steel and cut one out with the band saw.So here is a video I uploaded to youtube to see how it works...It works great!Regards,RobGreat Basin WeldingInstagramBlue weldersRed weldersMy luscious Table DIY TIG Torch cooler
Reply:That works slick. Can it make U shaped brackets also using a shorter length of material?
Reply:Oh I like that, I reckon I am going to steal that idea for sure Cheers AndrewWIA 270amp Mig Transtig 200 AC/DC Tig/stickHypertherm PM45
Reply:Thanks, please go right ahead! For the U shaped I will use my mag drill and the annular cutters to hog out a half circle or so, and weld the slug to another piece to make the round versions in different sizes.Regards,RobGreat Basin WeldingInstagramBlue weldersRed weldersMy luscious Table DIY TIG Torch cooler
Reply:Nice idea ....
Reply:Cool good idea man!
Reply:I showed this to a friend of mine who is a tool maker. He says you might need to soften the edges a little (where I indicated with arrows) to lessen the chance of tearing/stretching the section that folds into the die. He also says that even if you don't intentionally soften the edges, if it gets enough use, it will soften the edges itself. Attached Images
Reply:Self adjusting! It's a feature I might could grind them down a bit then hit them with the wire wheel. Thanks!Regards,RobGreat Basin WeldingInstagramBlue weldersRed weldersMy luscious Table DIY TIG Torch cooler

Reply:That material could probably be done in a 3 ton arbor press......w/ the tweaked die.Bubble gumTooth pixDuct tapeBlack glueGBMF hammerScrew gun --bad battery (see above)
