Has anyone here ever played with one of these? http://m.grainger.com/mobile/product...G-Welder-6XAE0I've got a chance to pick up one brand new for $500. I think it's worth the money but I wanted to see what you smart folks would think. It would mostly be ran with Flux core in the shop, nothing too crazy, small general fabrication, and for the price I wouldn't be afraid of letting the guys in the shop use it (I'm sure it won't get treated the best). Any idea on consumables? Guessing the gun would have parts compatible with maybe a tweco gun?One other thing, for power it says 230v. Wondering if I can run it on 208. Its around 200lbs so it's a transformer machine, I'm guessing it would be OK. Also don't wanna let out $500 worth of magic smoke being stupid. I've had a bit of Westward stuff from grainger and while none of it has been snap on level none of it has been junk either. Thanks folks! Reply:I'll bet it is the same as the Northern Tool 250a welder, for the price I would jump on that.Thermal Arc 210 - Tweco 211I - Cutmaster 52
Reply:They have about the same weight (185.7 vs 186 lbs) and sure look similar. I've used the smaller Northern tool wire welder and was happy with it. Worst case if I can't power it at my shop, I'd need to take this unit home, and I wouldn't mind that a bit!
