Hi been lurking for a while taking advantage of the expert advise and experience. I must say some real craftsmen here.Anyway on to my issue. I picked up a Hypertherm 380 a while back and finally got around to trying it out. Never used one before so thought this would be the place to start. It is used although lightly. The machine is very clean inside and out. The internal filter is spotless. No dust or debris.Air supply is clean and dry, plugged into 240v with all the other proper requirements. It cuts like a dream but when the trigger is released air keeps flowing. I can only stop air flow by switching the current output back to zero and starting over. Got to be the solenoid but I have no manual to even see if this is a serviceable item. Assuming a solenoid problem any suggestions? If not a solenoid where else should I look.Just a garage hobbyist wanting to mess around with some light steel. Thanks,Bill
Reply:when you done just wait & let it flow... it will feel like it's taking forever at first but it will eventually stop... this is just a purge to cool the consumables... I've had a few times that I just thought it was stuck but if you wait a while you'll see it stop on it's own & get used to it...miller 330a bp TIGmiller dynasty 200DX TIGmillermatic 185 MIGthermal dynamics cutmaster 101 plasma cuttersnap-on YA5550 plasma cutterhypertherm powermax 30 plasma cutterbaileigh CS225 cold sawetc....
Reply:Well, I'll be darned. Worked just like you described. I just needed 5 more seconds of patience. Thanks. |
