Kinda got a huge surprise yesterday when I tried my new gadget (Inline flow gauge) With the regulator set for 10 CFH it barely registered......I had to turn the reg up to 20 before it registered 10Hmmmmmm are these things accurate?Anyone have problems with the Speedway 320 torches flow wise?Last edited by B_C; 01-24-2014 at 12:45 PM. Reply:How long is the initial gas surge on your setup?Mine is a good 2-3 seconds of blasting past where the meter can read.I have to let that surge out before I start welding an aluminum inside corner or it can screw up my start with a loud erratic arc.Dave J.Beware of false knowledge; it is more dangerous than ignorance. ~George Bernard Shaw~ Syncro 350Invertec v250-sThermal Arc 161 and 300MM210DialarcTried being normal once, didn't take....I think it was a Tuesday.
Reply:I had that issue on my Tig 355 Lincoln especially with the WP-18 torch........I just accepted it and did what you do and waited till the RUSH was over to weld.....One day I had time to mess around and shortened up the supply hose to the machine from the regulator and most of the problem went away. There was a large volume of space in that extra hose so it built up pressure I guess......taking away that extra volume lessened the pressure build up....Try shortening the supply hose to just what is needed to connect the regulator to the machine and see what happens? Reply:That's exactly what is wrong with mine - I have a ten foot supply hose feeding it.I'll have to figure where to move my machine so I can get the tank in a better spot.Dave J.Beware of false knowledge; it is more dangerous than ignorance. ~George Bernard Shaw~ Syncro 350Invertec v250-sThermal Arc 161 and 300MM210DialarcTried being normal once, didn't take....I think it was a Tuesday.
Reply:There's a company that makes a couple things to reduce the surge. I think it's primarily a smaller diameter hose and a reducing orifice at the end that connects to the welder. http://netwelding.com/http://netwelding.com/How_GSS_Works.htm"USMCPOP" First-born son: KIA Iraq 1/26/05Syncrowave 250 w/ Coolmate 3Dialarc 250, Idealarc 250SP-175 +Firepower TIG 160S (gave the TA 161 STL to the son)Lincwelder AC180C (1952)Victor & Smith O/A torchesMiller spot welder

Reply:My bottles are close to my machine so a shorter hose wasnt a problem.....I think using a hose with a smaller IDwould be a good idea if length is an issue......Same deal just different....lol Miller Dynasty 350Twenty Six HammersThree Crow BarsBig Rock
