I'm looking for a beginner MIG welding setup on Long Island for around 300.  Looking for miller, lincoln or hobart.  Also need it to run off of a regular outlet.  Thanks.  Please e-mail with items.  [email protected]
Reply:You are  better off looking on your local craigslist for something used that cheap(better yet save some more money(for maybe $350 more you can buy a new 140 millermatic)). You never know you might get lucky and find what you need.Drink a Guinness Draught....Millermatic 140Do you still rememberDecember's foggy freeze --when the ice thatclings on to your beard isscreaming agony.
Reply:I know, but I am just starting out with welding, I don't feel like it is a great idea to go over 700 deep into something I'm just starting with.  I would like to get my feet wet with something used and cheap. I've been checking CL too, just figured I'd throw a post on here.
Reply:go to craftsman on line they have one for 389.00 its a good starter just to mess with to learnLincoln Pro Core 125Lincolin sp 100Miller Big 40Lincoln Idealarc SP250miller matic 212http://www.facebook.com/hdwelding?sk=wallwww.hdweldingbeds.com
Reply:Some real crap on CL, I've been looking too....
Reply:I try my best to avoid the cheap stuff, the good stuff tends to last longer(case in point my over 10 year old LX200 10" telescope still works great)Drink a Guinness Draught....Millermatic 140Do you still rememberDecember's foggy freeze --when the ice thatclings on to your beard isscreaming agony.
Reply:There's this one for $275:This one for $700:
Reply:Are you using searchtempest to look at CL? Thats what I use usually and type in "welder". I see ones all the time coming up in North Jersey, Long Island, and New York. Usually I don't even bother to glance at them since thats not what I'm in the market for right now and the city is such a pain to drive in. I don't know how far out you are willing to go. I usually look out to 200 miles, but mostly concentrate on the 1st 3 or 4 CL's that are fairly local, with in 50 miles or so..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth! Ronald Reagan
Reply:I have a Hobart 140 (or maybe 135, can't remember the number) that I might be willing to part with, but I want to find a nice 220v machine to replace it...how soon are you looking to get something.
