Hello I'm very new to the welding scene and I have a Miller CST 280 that I use for stick and I would like to use TIG on it as well. From what I understand, in order to do this I need a foot pedal or thumb control and a torch that has a gas valve. What part that I'm confused about is that if I buy this TIG torch: http://www.airgas.com/browse/product...ct=RAD64005482 , will the lead for the power properly fit into the welder, or if this torch is even compatible with it? Also if I purchase this torch, will it come with a cable that will hook up onto the regulator.
Reply:That torch has a 2 piece cable. One for power and one for gas. You will need a dinse 50 plug for the machine. Assuming the torch comes with the standard fitting, it'll screw right into your reg.NickESAB CaddyTig 2200iPowermax 45MM140 (Sold)
Reply:It's easier to buy a 17V with a one piece cable and adapter/gas line. See the sticky from Tozzi in this section. Then you can leave you tig torch hooked up to your tank and regulator all the time and just clamp your stinger to it when u wan to weld.TA Arcmaster 300CM3XMT 304S22P12 suitcase feederX-Treme 12VSOptima pulserTA161SMaxstar 150STLHypertherm PM45OP setupStihl 020AVP, 039, 066 Magnum
