hey, I hope i can get someone to help me out, I need a welder that can do GTAW,GMAW,SMAW all in one, it also has to be able to tig weld AL. I need to only have one machine because i am limited on space in my garage. Nothing very large, i am not sure if such a machine exists that is not large that is a MP machine. someone help me out!!!
Reply:Good luck. I don't think they make a 3 in 1 that does AC. Better off getting an inverter AC/DC tig-stick, and a good mig.Weld like a "WELDOR", not a wel-"DERR" MillerDynasty700DX,Dynasty350DX4ea,Dynasty200DX,Li  ncolnSW200-2ea.,MillerMatic350P,MillerMatic200w/spoolgun,MKCobraMig260,Lincoln SP-170T,PlasmaCam/Hypertherm1250,HFProTig2ea,MigMax1ea.
Reply:Miller xmt with a spool gun for AL. Not sure of any all in ones that are worth a damn with ac tig. Lots of sacrifices and comprises are made in multi process machines. My everlast powertig 325ext, two powcons, and two suitcase feeders take up very little room... just sayin. Maybe an old powcon 300sm, ln25 with gas, and an everlast 250ex would be a good starting arsenal. All small and lightweight and capable of producing quality welding power. Just my thoughts. Probably around 3500 bucks for all the stuff you'd need to get going.Powcon 300st (my favorite)Miller Goldstar 600ssLincoln Idealarc 400/400Miller 12vs2 LN25'sMiller Deltaweld 302Miller Bobcat 250 G EFIMiller Bobcat 225d Plus (Dropped a valve, up soon)Everlast 255ext (ordering soon!)
Reply:So i should just get a AC/DC tig that does stick welding? and just pick up a smaller mig machine?

Reply:A Miller Dynasty 200DX and something like the MM211 for mig would cover most of what you probably will want to do. Both are small units that would take up limited space..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Reply:I vote for two separate machines a stick/tig setup and a mig setup. For one thing it gives you a backup is something goes wrong with one. What I would do if I was you would be to decide which process I was going to do the most and by the best machine I can that does that process. Then go after a decent entry level machine for the process I don't think I'll l do as much.My "collection":Homemade Stick WelderVictor O/A TorchAC 225Ideal Arc 250HF 90 Amp Flux CoreHF Mig 170Solar 2020 Plasma CutterPower i-Mig 140EHarris O/A torchHF Dual Mig 131140STAlpha Tig 200x

Reply:I would say get a Dynasty 200 and a Multimatic 200. Both inverters. Both small. Both Miller. You can even tig & stick off the multimatic if you want.  It mig welds much nicer than  211 Sent from my SCH-I605 using TapatalkRyanMiller Multimatic 200 tig/spool gun/wireless remoteMillermatic 350P, Bernard/XR Python gunsMiller Dynasty 350, Coolmate 3.5 & wireless remoteCK WF1 TIG wire feederMiller Spectrum 375 XtremeOptrel e684Miller Digital EliteMiller Weld-Mask

Reply:You can put an inverter TIG and a MIG in the same large cart.   That makes the foot print less than 16" x 30" with my machines and 60 CF tanks.   The width is dependent on the the two tanks as well as the width of the welders.    This opens you to a vast array of decent quality home shop machines.I've opted for two carts ( MIG + TIG/STICK), so my footprint is 28 x 30.   Dan----------------------------Measure twice.  Weld once.  Grind to size.MIG:  Lincoln SP100 TIG/STICK:  AHP Alphatig 200X
Reply:A good combination of the three processes doesn't really exist. I had only AC/DC TIG / Stick machine for years before I got a MIG welder.  You may find that you can get by without the MIG depending on how much welding you end up doing.  Maybe start with the stick/tig machine and see what you can get done.  MIG can be added later if needed
