I have a friend that has a VERY cool wooden box full of art supplies. She asked if I could make some sort of base to make it like a table so she could use/display it in her art room. Here is the box and the "base". The only real difficulty I had was when I tried welding the thin walled tube to the 1/4" bottom plate. The 1/4" plate was not heating up enough before the thin wall melted away. I should have practiced that operation before I tried it on the actual project. It was a lesson learned.I wanted to shine up the entire piece but she said not to because she might like the industrial look. She will either leave it raw with some sort of clear coat or she will paint it in her own way. Attached Images

Reply:Very nice. Looks very much like the Frank Lloyd Wright windows of the Coonly house. That period of his work has always been a favorite of mine.http://franklloydwright.tercenim.com/Coonley.htm.No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size.
